more rants

Wow! A lot of talk about this subject, and I'm just now able to get back to this forum and see all of the speculation, rants and responses.

Well, let's start by saying this. The sharing of any digital media, of course, is a controversial topic. For as many who say it is illegal, there are as many who say otherwise. Just recently a very high court in Italy ruled that it is not illegal to share anything on the internet as long as it is not for profit. There are many who say, in a nutshell, "coding is not a crime" (see www.eff.org.) In December of 2005, a French court ruled that download/uploading on the internet is legal:

Paris, France – An Internet user defended by the Association of Audionautes (ADA) was released free of charges by the District Court of Paris after downloading and uploading music and movies on the Internet. French judge authorizes downloading and uploading of copyrighted content on the Internet The decision, dated December 8, 2005 and made public this week, is available online at: http://www.audionautes.net/pages/PDF/audionautestgiparis.pdf
All said and done, Google/Blogger/Pyra did not ever warn me about anything, about any of my posts, nor did they warn me that I was about to be deleted. They asked no questions: in fact, I had permission from most of the producers to post the content that I did. Did Google/Blogger/Pyra know that? How could they? They didn't ask! In fact, Google/Blogger/Pyra has NEVER notifed me that my blog was deleted. I have emailed them at least, oh about 300 times. They have emailed a lot of my friends, telling THEM that my blog and other blogs were deleted due to "violations of TOS (terms of service)". Okay, there are hundreds of terms in their TOS. Which one(s)? NO response. And if this is true, that we were deleted due to pornographic content, why then were NO straight porno blogs deleted, and are still up today? Was it about copyright/DMCA violations? 2257 Regulations? Or just perhaps someone didn't like my tastes, don't like bad boiz? The porn industry is changing. For every blog they zap into oblivion, ten more will pop up. For every blog you see, there must be at least 200 Yahoo groups, 300 Google groups, and god knows how many forums exist, such as this one. It seems some of the producers have begun to realize that the industry is changing. I get offers and requests all the time from producers, asking for help, advice, will I help promote their products. I recently started a new blog, sort of an experiment in transition. (see Str8'n'Ruff) I have started a new blog, called wildmonkeydance Unfortunately, it is not up right now. Server problems. But the new blog hosts has already asked me for 2257 documents, which of course I don't have. I can only reference those to the producer's webpage, if I know who the producer is/was. So now, my blog has changed. I can no longer just post anonymous 'stuff'. If I don't know who produced it, it ain't going up. How did I know the kid was only 17? NO way dude... Anyway, I appreciate all of the conversation. Stay tuned, because more will be revealed... be well...

So all those videos on your old blog, which I used to love by the way, were not videos that you had anything to do with producing or selling? I always thought these blogs offering free porn video downloads were run by the studios.

Will your old blog ever be coming back?

nope, not run by studios. quite the opposite, in fact. just regular guys, like you and me, who devote a lot of time and effort...

Im glad you and others have these info sites available so we know what's happening. It's been a riot chasing Tom in Paris all over. I hope his latest stop is more permanent. I like your Str8 n Ruff blog btw. So what's with all the compliance thingy, is that a US thing? I don't think I've ever seen that on a blog.
