RIO RANCHO, New Mexico - Hockey players in drag are accused of starting a fight following an arm wrestling match at the Crazy Crocs Tavern, a Rio Rancho bar.

A man told police he was beaten up by at least seven members of the New Mexico Scorpions hockey team after he had beat one of the team members in arm wrestling.  It happened at a party Sunday night where some of the rookie members of the team were dressed in women's clothing.

The alleged victim said several of them jumped on him, striking him with pool sticks. He suffered multiple bruises on the ribs, arm, leg, left shin and left eye, according to a criminal complaint.

No charges have been filed in the case, and none of the players allegedly involved have been identified.

Rio Rancho police and team management are both investigating the incident.

The alleged victim said he could positively identify the players involved in the fight if he saw them again.
